Solution
End-to-end design of marketplace
The marketplace is divided into two main sections: Products and Communication, each with unique access for manufacturers and medical sales representatives. Users start by exploring products and requesting a quote (RQR), which is integrated with the general messaging system—the primary communication channel. Once all product details are gathered, the process is straightforward: adding items to the cart and completing the purchase. Additionally, the platform features a Medical Events Page, showcasing industry events in the area, allowing users to network, market their products in person, and build connections. This structure ensures a seamless experience for both manufacturers and sales representatives, streamlining communication, transactions, and professional networking.

In the dynamic landscape of the healthcare industry, innovation is not just a choice but a necessity. After the secondary research we observed following trends that highlights current scenario of medical device market.
As the global medical device market continues to expand exponentially, with millions of products flooding the market, it's imperative to navigate through this vast landscape efficiently.
The compound annual growth rate of the medical device market is projected to surge, indicating a growing demand for streamlined distribution channels.

Process
Surveys and Inteviews
Qualitative research

To gain deeper insights into the challenges faced by medical businesses in procuring medical devices and to inform the development of Medical Direct, a series of surveys and interviews were conducted.
Participants were asked about their current suppliers, methods of submitting purchase orders, and their pain points in the procurement process. Additionally, questions delved into the specific features and functionalities they deemed essential in an online marketplace for medical devices. These surveys and interviews provided invaluable feedback and shaped the strategic direction of Medical Direct, ensuring it meets the needs of its target users effectively.
A significant portion of respondents expressed frustration with the inefficiencies and delays associated with the current procurement process.
There is a strong desire among medical businesses for a more streamlined and transparent method of purchasing medical devices directly from manufacturers.
Participants highlighted the importance of having access to a wide range of products and brands on a single platform, allowing for easy comparison and selection.
Concerns regarding product authenticity, reliability, and after-sales support were frequently mentioned, indicating a need for robust quality assurance measures.
Surprisingly, the current top three methods of purchasing orders include emails, phone calls, and navigating through various online websites, suggesting a fragmented and less efficient procurement landscape.
Many medical businesses rely heavily on traditional methods for procuring medical devices, such as working through established wholesalers and distributors.
